Liverpool are understood to be preparing to step up their pursuit of Motherwell wonderkid Lennon Miller, who is also attracting interest from Newcastle, Brighton and Southampton.
The talented 18-year-old is fast becoming one of the most sought after prospects in the country at the moment, and CaughtOffside understands that Liverpool are determined to move to the front of the queue for his signature.
Sources have told CaughtOffside that the Reds could try offering around €10million for Miller, which would represent a significant fee for Motherwell that could really boost their financial situation.
Liverpool battling PL rivals for 19-year-old winger!
Liverpool scouts have given glowing reviews of Miller, but Brighton might not be that far behind in the race for his signature.
The Seagulls are also very keen on landing the Scotland Under-21 international, while Newcastle and Southampton are also understood to be monitoring the situation.
Will Liverpool win the race for Lennon Miller?
Liverpool look to be in a strong position for Miller at the moment, but Brighton might also be seen as a tempting destination for the teenager as they have such a good record when it comes to promoting and developing young players.
That could make Brighton the ideal stepping stone club for Miller, who might then be able to earn himself a big move to somewhere like Liverpool later in his career.
Still, LFC might also prove to be the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come around more than once, so it may be hard for the youngster to say no if he does end up having an offer from Anfield.
Arne Slot is doing a great job as Liverpool manager, but he’ll no doubt want to keep on building for the future as he has a slightly ageing squad in places.
Miller looks like he could be a smart signing for the long-term for Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see how this saga resolve itself in the weeks and months ahead.
