So far so good for Arne Slot and his Liverpool side, the result against Nottingham Forest notwithstanding.
The Dutchman, though under the severest scrutiny, has been a beacon of calm in the Anfield dugout and that has seemingly translated to his players.
In the space of a few games, supporters and Liverpool’s opponents already know what they’re going to get when playing the Reds and, in truth, there’s not much difference to when Jurgen Klopp was in charge.
Liverpool target could leave current club in 2025
The high press is still there with perhaps a higher line being played at times as Liverpool seek to ram home their advantage.
They’ve been a joy to watch and Slot should get all of the plaudits for that.
Come the summer, there may well be one or two personnel changes, be they forced upon Liverpool or otherwise.
According to Fabrizio Romano, they could be in luck where a previous target is concerned too.
“One of the players being considered around Europe in the summer was, for sure, Xavi Simons. He’s always been in the media and there have always been rumours,” he said to CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.
“I always told you “Leipzig, Leipzig, Leipzig” in the summer because they were pushing, and in the end the player decided to continue in Germany to give Leipzig an opportunity to win titles.
“In summer 25 he will formally return to PSG but remember this; the expectation is still for Xavi Simons to try something different.
“It’d be a pure guess job at the moment as no club has planned anything for him but, for sure, top clubs will keep monitoring his progress at Leipzig.
“I’m sure there’s a good chance for Xavi to leave PSG on a permanent transfer in 2025, but it’s not something already agreed with Liverpool or any other club.”
