The majestic Lena Horne was born on June thirtieth, 1917.

Horne’s iconic version of Stormy Climate became her signature music and she was the first African American to signal to a prolonged-expression studio deal.

In a time when sticking up for civil rights was frowned on, Lena stood tall.

However primarily recognized as an entertainer, Horne also was observed for her perform with civil legal rights and political organizations as an actress, she refused to enjoy roles that stereotyped African American females.

She was blacklisted for the reason that of fuckwit McCarthyism and “for 7 years the assaults on her human being and political beliefs continued.”
