TX Rep. Seeks New ‘Intimidation’ Charges Against AG Paxton

As C&L’s Purple Painter has noted, Rep. Charlie Geren (R-Fort Worth) claimed that numerous Texas Dwelling users experienced gained cellular phone phone calls from Paxton threatening them with political implications if they voted for his impeachment – though the users had been on the ground and having component in the proceedings.

It didn’t work out perfectly for the disgraced Paxton. Not only was he impeached on all twenty posts by a substantial vast majority of 121-23 in the Republican-dominated point out Property, now just one member has requested for new costs to be brought against Paxton, now suspended from place of work, for trying to strong-arm the “jury.”

Democratic Rep. Eddie Morales, Jr. has formally asked for that expenses against Paxton be amended to incorporate “intimidation of users of the Texas Property of Representatives, and jury tampering with respect to the intimidation of the Senate.”

I am not knowledgeable of any public allegations that Paxton has threatened associates of the Texas Senate. But condition Rep. James Talarico, a Democrat, explained on CNN yesterday he “can confirm” that some of his Republican colleagues have been named by Paxton even though they have been on the ground.

“That to me is just more affirmation of Ken Paxton’s corruption and I think it’s even much more evidence of his abuse of workplace,” Talarico extra.

We’ll have to hold out and see what transpires with Paxton’s demo in the Senate, assuming he does not resign beforehand. The Texas Tribune notes that whilst the Senate is extra conservative than the Dwelling and is “ruled with an iron fist” by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, he “has not however stepped up to defend Ken Paxton, instead saying he intends to get in touch with a trial.”
